Legal networking – strategies and ethical considerations in expanding your networking to create connections and build a client base. Networking is often confused for socializing, but it’s actually most effective when treated thoughtfully and with discipline, beginning early in a legal career. Effective networking will also help lawyers attract and retain clients, in addition to creating a network of colleagues and recruits. The model rules for ethics provide guidelines for lawyer communications, and a review of these, especially as applied to a few scenarios, will help lawyers stay compliant.
