Call for Annual Institute Topics

Create the program you want for the 36th Annual Institute, June 21-23, 2015 at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation on Amelia Island, Florida. Each year topics are generated by EMLF members who submit their ideas to the program committee, chaired  this year by Dan Wolff at Crowell & Moring, Washington, DC, with Coal Chair Shane Harvey at Jackson Kelly, Charleston, WV, and Oil and Gas Chair Joe Reinhart, Babst Calland in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Program Committee and the EMLF Officers and Executive Committee will meet together in mid-February to select the topics and speakers.

Deadline for topics is Tuesday, February 10.  Submit suggestions to Sharon Daniels at sharon@emlf.org, covering any aspect of energy development, natural resources, ethics, electric power generation, oil & gas, coal, environmental, renewables, land and real property.

Your topic suggestion should include a brief description and any suggested speaker (including yourself), who can make a scholarly and balanced presentation.  Each speaker at the Annual Institute is required to provide written materials which meet various state Continuing Legal Education requirements.

In addition, each speaker must write an original law review quality chapter for publication in Volume 36 of the Energy & Mineral Law Institute.
