Anna Girard Fletcher comes to EMLF after seven years as an attorney with the Commonwealth of Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, practicing environmental protection and natural resources law at administrative, appellate and federal levels.
She is also a past national chair of the Conference of Government Mining Attorneys.
“I am so excited to join the great team at EMLF! I look forward to building on the strong and successful foundation that Sharon is leaving behind as we begin planning for the next chapter,” she said.
Ms. Fletcher is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, where she served as Student Bar Association president and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta. Her writing has been featured in the National Law Journal and she is a former editor of the Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Law.
Prior to law school, she was the Box Office Manager and grant writer for the Woodford Theatre in Versailles, Kentucky, after graduating magna cum laude and with honors from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts, Arts Administration (emphasis in theatre).
Ms. Fletcher is a Central Kentucky native, and lives in Lexington with her husband, Ken, and their cat, Murphy. She enjoys knitting and crocheting, as well as following sports — especially the UK Wildcats and the Green Bay Packers!
