The EMLF Law Student Scholarships

Scholarship Application Form

Through the Annual Scholarship Program, the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation provides educational assistance to encourage the study of energy, environmental, natural resources, and mineral law.

Last year, twenty-eight thousand ($28,000) dollars in Scholarships were awarded for the 2007-2008 academic year to law students studying energy, environmental, natural resource, and mineral law at schools holding membership in the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation.

The Energy & Mineral Law Foundation was established in 1980 to provide a forum for the intellectually honest examination of the legal issues related to the development and use of natural resources. The Energy & Mineral Law Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization, funded primarily through membership dues and revenues from educational programs. Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) in scholarships are funded through membership dues, the EMLF Endowment Fund, the Paul N. Bowles Scholarship Fund, and the James H. Davis, III Scholarship Fund.

Additional scholarships are available for the 2008-2009 academic year through the generous gifts of the following EMLF members:
• Foundation Coal Corporation Scholarship – $2,800
• Jan and Chester Keeton Scholarship – $5000
• Mary Sue Schulberg Scholarship – $1500
